When I was first offered to be Huntly's fiddler in residence I decided quite early on to write a collection of music dedicated to the towns past and present. As well as the familiar landmarks such as the castle I wanted to celebrate some of the well know local characters, shops and less known features of the town. Soon I discovered that there was no way that I could do a town like Huntly justice in 4 months. Simply put, it's just to rich in history! However, I found no shortage of inspiration and I have written 32 original compositions in the traditional Scottish style, covering subjects as diverse as Huntly F.C and Hairy Dan! A selection of which is presented in this CD. I enjoyed my time as Huntly's "toon fiddler", I hope you enjoy The Strathbogie Collection.

Deveron Projects is an arts organisation based in Huntly, a market town in the north east of Scotland with a population of 4,500.
